India has become one of the fastest developing countries in the world. Be it technology or the&nbsp; economic sector, we are expecting constant upward growth in the coming decade as well.&nbsp; However, with such developments, women are still finding themselves at the tail end of this&nbsp; growth.&nbsp;A survey by the National Family and Health Survey between 2019 and 2021 shows that&nbsp; there are 1020 women for every 1000 men in India. Despite the fact that India has more women&nbsp; than men, women are still facing challenges that are due to a lack of support and empowerment. As per the report, there are many reasons for this fall. In the political sector, the number of&nbsp; female ministers decreased from 23% in 2019 to just 9% in 2021. In the corporate sector, the&nbsp; female workforce rate also declined from 24.8% to 22.3%.&nbsp;Besides this, the percentage of women in senior and managerial positions also remains low. The&nbsp; report also suggests that women in India are earning just 1/5th of what men are earning.&nbsp; Additionally, one out of every four women experiences intimate violence at least once in their life.&nbsp; Apart from these situations, the literacy rate for women remains high. The report also shows that&nbsp; 65.8% of women are literate in 2021.&nbsp;Women also face inequality in land and property rights. All these factors suggest that even though&nbsp; there is a wide spread of "women's empowerment", India still needs to put a lot of work towards&nbsp; actually empowering its women.&nbsp;With the prevailing situation of women's empowerment in India, you might have a better&nbsp; perspective on the need for women's empowerment in our country. Empowering women by providing them with equal&nbsp; opportunities and support would concede them to contribute towards economic growth as&nbsp; productive citizens. By providing equal pay for equal work and higher literacy rates, women will be&nbsp; able to flourish economically and come out of poverty.&nbsp;Providing protection to women against violence and abuse and encouraging the victims to report&nbsp; the crime would overall create a much safer society. Enhancing the female political representation&nbsp; rate will enable more women to act as role models for younger generations and spread awareness&nbsp; of the problems affecting women in India. Overall, women's empowerment facilities women to live&nbsp;a quality life, allowing them to decide their futures above traditional expectations.<h1 style="margin-left:0.15399932861328125pt;">How to Further Improve Women's Empowerment in India? &nbsp;</h1>Even after India’s constant growth, The Human Development Index shows that India ranks 136th&nbsp; out of 187 nations. This report suggests that work needs to be done from the grass-roots level.&nbsp; Furthermore, in the Global Gender Gap Index of 2021, India ranks at 140th. Gender inequalities&nbsp; and prejudice still exist in various parts of the country, which goes unnoticed. Here are a few&nbsp; improvements that can be made to help women grow more than what they already have: &nbsp;&nbsp;•&nbsp;The laws and schemes executed for women's empowerment are not met by many women in&nbsp; the country. Most women are unaware of the facilities that are there for them. Hence, genuine&nbsp; awareness and propaganda of these laws are very important.&nbsp;•&nbsp;In rural and backward societies, women are not allowed to go out and speak about women's&nbsp; problems. Mostly, women in these areas are expected to stay home and look after their families&nbsp; or work in agricultural fields. Hence, these women should be encouraged to get out of these&nbsp; situations by creating awareness and education programs.&nbsp;&nbsp;•&nbsp;In India, many women are illiterate. This makes them vulnerable, and things get difficult for&nbsp; them. So, education for every girl must be made mandatory.
